I use the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) model to work with complex trauma (C-PTSD), along with nearly a decade of experience as a trauma-informed bodyworker, Reiki practitioner/teacher, and Forrest yoga instructor.

offering in-person and virtual sessions
I offer individual and group sessions that utilize curiosity and principles of mindful embodiment. I am also the creator and host of the Beyond MeToo podcast.
My work supports increased awareness and curiosity around psychobiological patterns, usually formed in response to trauma, that get in the way of what my clients would truly like for themselves.
The foundations of my therapeutic approach come from what I have found most useful in my own post-traumatic healing and growth: consent, curiosity, connection, and embodiment. I am interested in my clients’ moment-to-moment physical, emotional, mental, and energetic experiences because that’s where the juice — and the potential for internal shifts — lies.
About Me
My Education and Experience
I am committed to healing trauma in all its forms in both my personal and professional life. My work with clients focuses on deep healing through the use of inquiry, energy work, embodiment, and spiritual connection. I especially enjoy working with people who have done some introspective work but are finding themselves stuck in the story of what happened to them. More about that here.
A bit about my background…
I graduated valedictorian in 2012 from the Soma Institute National School of Clinical Massage Therapy and worked as a massage therapist for seven years. I began studying Reiki and have worked as a Reiki practitioner since 2012 and as a Reiki teacher since 2015. I have studied three Reiki lineages – Western Usui, Holy Fire and Japanese style Usui, which is what I currently teach and study. You can read more about Reiki here.
I am a co-founder of the Midwest Reiki Community ,as well as a partner with The Breathe Network, which connects survivors of sexual violence to trauma-informed, sliding-scale, holistic healing arts practitioners.
Prior to pursuing a career in the healing arts, I worked for over a decade in community-based research with under served communities, at the University of Chicago School of Social Services Administration and with Harvard School of Public Health faculty. Before that I served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic from 2003 to 2005. I hold a B.A. in Organizational Studies and a Master of Public Health, both from the University of Michigan.
I am also an avid beach volleyball player and former marathoner and triathlete.

What Clients Are Saying
“ I met Molly when I was searching for a means of being able to deal better with my illness. Receiving Reiki gave me a sort of inner peace, which made me interested in learning Reiki myself. Since then, I have been convinced that the initiation(s) and practicing Reiki have helped me in so many ways, including healing after my second operation so much faster than after the first one. It was good to be able to share with Molly my experiences when practicing Reiki myself. Molly stresses that Reiki is not a religion, but it has brought me closer to God again.”

“ I was always a Reiki skeptic but these last few months with Molly have turned out to be a wonderful journey of self-discovery, balance, and well being. Frankly, I thought Reiki was some phony substitute for therapy or exercise but I kept noticing how often I thought of myself and life in terms of energy. I regularly said phrases like "I'm drained" or "I really like their energy". I challenged myself to try out energy healing since, without intending to, I thought in terms of it. I have found Reiki with Molly Coeling refreshing. She acknowledged my concerns and welcomed me to really open myself to the experience. I couldn't imagine getting Reiki from anyone but Molly.”

“ I have been seeing Molly for nearly two years. I spend a lot of time in front of a computer and have formed postural habits that cause back & neck pain and headaches. She really listens and asks questions in order to understand the pain I am experiencing. She is a gifted healer and I cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“ Molly is an incredibly compassionate, wise, intuitive and curious woman and is rapidly developing her healing gifts. I have been fortunate to receive both massage and Reiki from her on several occasions, and each time it has been a wonderful experience. As a long-term practitioner myself, I know a lot of people who have been offering these services for many years, and I can recommend Molly enthusiastically. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment.”

“ A couple of months ago I had the privilege to have a Reiki session with Molly. If you haven’t had that experience yet, you owe it to yourself. It can be really transformative... Molly is a very talented Reiki practitioner who is wholeheartedly dedicated to practice it as a way to benefit people.”
